General Authority Interview

Monday: Another Baptism We had a baptism to go to in Siguatepeque again. The girl getting baptized was moving to Spain so they did it as soon as she felt like she was ready.  Transfers was that day and not much changed. We got new Zone Leaders and I am the only Gringo in my District now. Tuesday: The one day with a new person We went looking for a inactive family with no success (No one remembered where they lived). We did find a new person to teach which was nice.  Later that day we went and talked with Berta (That lady is never busy so we just stop by when we want to). We had a pretty long conversation about what are the missionary lessons. We also talked about Come Follow Me and Seminary for quite a bit. We don't think knowledge is going to be a barrier but she is a pretty active Evangelical so that might lead to problems. Wednesday: Wild Goose Chase and Bible Herb The water in our apartment went out while I was in the shower. It did return for my companions. We met a famil...

Teaching, teaching and more teaching

Transfers: Nothing changed for me. The other Gringo in the district is leaving though. Looks like my district will be me and 3 Hondureños. Is there anyone that is progressing? This week has been a weird one. Every single person we taught a lesson this week, except for 1 person, was a new person, or a family member of an investigator. We did finally get one of our investigators to go to the church. We have taught her nearly every lesson and we finally got her dad to drive her here (she lives in La Mata). Her dad is the friend of the pensionista's family so they have helped a lot. Monday: Movies and Honduran Tacos It was a normal P-day until after the video call. We got Honduran Tacos at the restaurant on our Block. It was very different. Deep fried tortilla filled with meat with sauces on top is strange. We went back to the apartment and Elder Nuñez had Dune and the New Spiderman movie in Spanish. I watched both and uhh, still don't know the plots of either of them. Those movies...

Baptism, Prophets and Donuts

Monday: We broke our fast? That's new, right?  We broke our fast at lunch. Spent the afternoon at the church, etc. Not much happens on Mondays. (the Hondurans fast from mid-day on Sunday until Monday). Tuesday: Well that was unexpected We had our District Council in the Siguatepeque building today. Super long walk to their building. It's for a ward so it's not small.  We decided to knock on doors in the Buena Vista Neighborhood (Regional part of the city). Buena Vista is at the other end of the city so we took a bus to get there. Bussing around within a city is cheap, finding the bus is the hard part. After a while of no success, we came across this house. We went inside and taught about agency, and then a little about the Doctrine of Christ, and then about the Book of Mormon. The lady inside was really interested so we testified of the truth that the Book of Mormon and The Holy Bible were both the word of God. The Spirit was really strong in there. Afterwards, she told us...

An Interesting Spiritual Experience

Monday We did laundry, the phone call, apparently Elder Nuñez knows how to play monopoly deal (needs help on the action cards), and we were at the church all afternoon. Really boring. There was just nothing to do at the church.  I played star realms by myself like 8 times (learned a couple of interesting strategy tips). Tuesday: An Interesting Spiritual Experience  We taught Esperanza on Tuesday. (Wants to go to church and be baptized but family is pushing back hard). An appointment fell through so we taught someone else about modern day prophets and we sent her a conference talk by President Nelson. Later that day we had an interesting experience. Elder Nuñez's back was hurting so we headed back to our apartment but on the way back he felt like we should visit an inactive member. We went to her house, but no one was there. We were a bit confused and we felt like there was a reason we were there. We started knocking on doors and found 3 new people to teach. It's always interes...
