Many Zone Meetings

---Tuesday--- Zone Meeting and Relationship advice

In the morning we had a meeting with all the zone and the Stake Mission Leader. He talked about how the stake is really excited that the zone is only the stake boundaries so the stake and the missionaries can work better together. We talked a lot about missionary work and afterwards we had pizza. The stake knows what missionaries like.

Afterwards we had a visit with a member. Her Evangelical friends came over and we talked alot. Elder Alvey started to ask them questions about love and relationship advice. We talked about how both members of the couple should be able to do anything. Wash clothes, make food, clean etc. It doesn't matter if its a female job or mens job because sometimes one or the other can't do it and its important that they are both able to do it.

---Wednesday--- Donut Making

That night we headed off to our pensionista's house to make donuts. I had learned how to make donuts in my previous area so I taught the family there. The recipe is simple but in Honduran cooking slang so good luck making them. They took some time to make but afterwards they tasted amazing and overall fun to make.

---Friday--- Exchanges in La Pradera

I went off to La Pradera to do exchanges there. They have a huge but unproductive area which is sad but sometimes that is just how it is. We visited around and talked with people and everything. That night I was talking to the elder there Elder Reyes who is from San Pedro Sula (A large city in the northern part of Honduras. We were talking about the fact that the people here in Tegucigalpa eat EVERYTHING with tortillas. It can be spaghetti, tomales, whatever and it is eaten with tortillas. He called it an abomination to eat tortillas with spaghetti. It was funny to see how a Honduran was very pissed about the local cuisine. Tegus is a strange city by Honduran standards apparently.

---Saturday

We cleaned out our Areabook, that's about it for that day

---Sunday--- Church

We attended church and our investigator named Andy came. He is 13 years old and is very interested in the church but doesn't want to get baptized (awkward). We had very few people come to church (We had to bless the sacrament) and yeah, this ward isn't doing so great.

Later on that day all the Missionary Committees from all the wards in the stake got together to meet. Well, no one from our ward showed up. The 2 youths came 30 minutes late but in general no one. The stake leaders went and talked with us directly and were telling us that they are going to help get the ward more involved in missionary work. All the other wards had several people come except for us. I guess recently I am now just getting assigned to difficult units who are not doing well so yay....

Pictures with Details

Still no letter from Chaz this week, but we talked with him after he sent a bunch of pictures. Here are some of the photos with explanations: Elder Bahr and Elder Jarman at a river near their house. Cooling off in the water. No swimming! Elder Jarman teaching members how to make French Toast Teeter break during the day. There was a whole rabbit cooking thing, not sure if this is rabbit or not. Making corn - said it tastes like popcorn. Skinning and eating rabbit. Chaz says it tasted amazing.

Teaching, Music, Lessons and a Baptism

Monday Spent the morning at the mission office. Bussed back and did my email and phone call. Played some basketball at the church. I'm not great at making 3pt shots but up close I'm decent. Tuesday - Got another baptism date We had district council and lunch with the district. There was a small restaurant? bar? behind a sweet shop. We had pollo chuco again. (Chicken covered  with sauces)  We taught this investigator, Esperanza who couldn't read but has been taught the lessons and wants to know if the church is true. She's currently having issues because her family and her family's pastor have been pressuring her not to go to church.  After the lesson we did her dishes using one of the outdoor "sinks". It was a large basin filled with water and had a ledge where you could wash your dishes. You get clean water from the basin, wash the dish, and you deposit the dirty water on the ledge because it had a drain.  Later that day we visited an inactive family wh...

Last Week (this is late, from the last week of October)

---Baptism--- We had the baptism of Nayeli on Sunday. She had been an investigator for a very long time (since last December) and many missionaries had given up on her. The entire ward attended which was great. We ran out of cake and there wasn't enough seating for everyone. It was great to see her take that step ---Another Baptism--- We attended the baptism of the bishop's daughter on Monday as well. The baptism doesn't count for us, but it's still great to see another baptism for the ward. We were able to help with the prep for it which was fun. We had to tape a mop to a broom to get the door open (hard to fill the font without the keys to it but we managed) ---Spiritual Thought--  But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. John 14:6  I really like this scripture because of how well it describes the Holy Ghost. He helps us ...
