So many people...

 ---Monday--- Picacho

We went off as a zone and visited El Picacho. It's a very nice park with a giant statue of Jesus. Of course I bought a tiny statue while I was there. It was fun to visit the park and chat with the zone. We found a music video making youtuber while we were there filming which was strange. He was just lip singing and it was weird to watch. At least they had the music playing but still....

Afterwards we got Domino's Pizza. It tasted pretty good. We headed home and that was it for the day.

---Tuesday--- Visiting Comayaguela
My companion had to go to the mission leadership council. I went off to the Comayaguela area again. I was with the zone leader's companion (there is only one zone leader here). I had a good lunch there and ate some Mexican candy at their pensionista's house. We went and visited their recent convert. She was baptized the day of the stake conference and was confirmed by the Area Seventy that was visiting. It was fun to talk to her and teach her about the Book of Mormon.

---Wednesday--- The Cruz Family
We went and visited the new family in their ward. The husband is from Honduras and the wife is from El Salvador. We had a chat about the husband's mission (he had a mission president who practically wrote a third missionary rule book). It was nice to meet the new members in the ward.

---Thursday--- Contacting
We went contacting for a bit in our area. Surprisingly we were able to visit 3 people and talk with them. We normally don't have any success when we go out contacting so that happening was nice.

---Friday--- Gaby's Family
We went to go visit an inactive member and met her family. Her mom investigated the church 22 years ago but wasn't able to be baptized because her boyfriend didn't want to get married. 22 years later, still not married. Someone is a turd... She sells food on facebook for a living and made us some baleadas which were amazing.

---Saturday--- An Old Friend
That night we got invited out to dinner by Joel. The elder's quorum president of my last area. It was great to see him again. My old area still has attendance issues (around 11 people every other week). On the good side, he has been able to find 3 people and get baptism dates for them, by himself. He has 3 baptisms and there are no missionaries assigned to where he lives. ok...

---Sunday--- So many people
We had a bunch of people come to church today. 8 people is a lot. A good 5 of them are progressing alot too so yay. We used to have a problem with church attendance. Now we don't.

Later that day we had to sing at the stake devotional for future missionaries. We helped out in the Q&A as well. We took a picture with everyone and yeah. It was fun.

---Spiritual Thought---
"Don’t tempt temptation. Don’t foolishly see how close you can come to danger or evil, how close you can come to a precipice. Stay away from what you shouldn’t do or where you shouldn’t go, or what you shouldn’t partake of.
And if you’ve turned toward some dead-end or down some wrong road, turn back as quickly as you can—not later than right now—and thank God for the principle of repentance.
Don’t run aimlessly looking to and fro for what has already been found. Don’t live by the sophistries and temptations of these times.
Don’t tamper with the degrading soul- and body-destroying things of life. Don’t deliberately look less than your best, or grubby or unclean, physically or morally.

Should the commandments be rewritten? No, they should be reread and become the guide and standard of our lives, if we want health and happiness and peace and self-respect."

Pictures with Details

Still no letter from Chaz this week, but we talked with him after he sent a bunch of pictures. Here are some of the photos with explanations: Elder Bahr and Elder Jarman at a river near their house. Cooling off in the water. No swimming! Elder Jarman teaching members how to make French Toast Teeter break during the day. There was a whole rabbit cooking thing, not sure if this is rabbit or not. Making corn - said it tastes like popcorn. Skinning and eating rabbit. Chaz says it tasted amazing.

Teaching, Music, Lessons and a Baptism

Monday Spent the morning at the mission office. Bussed back and did my email and phone call. Played some basketball at the church. I'm not great at making 3pt shots but up close I'm decent. Tuesday - Got another baptism date We had district council and lunch with the district. There was a small restaurant? bar? behind a sweet shop. We had pollo chuco again. (Chicken covered  with sauces)  We taught this investigator, Esperanza who couldn't read but has been taught the lessons and wants to know if the church is true. She's currently having issues because her family and her family's pastor have been pressuring her not to go to church.  After the lesson we did her dishes using one of the outdoor "sinks". It was a large basin filled with water and had a ledge where you could wash your dishes. You get clean water from the basin, wash the dish, and you deposit the dirty water on the ledge because it had a drain.  Later that day we visited an inactive family wh...

Last Week (this is late, from the last week of October)

---Baptism--- We had the baptism of Nayeli on Sunday. She had been an investigator for a very long time (since last December) and many missionaries had given up on her. The entire ward attended which was great. We ran out of cake and there wasn't enough seating for everyone. It was great to see her take that step ---Another Baptism--- We attended the baptism of the bishop's daughter on Monday as well. The baptism doesn't count for us, but it's still great to see another baptism for the ward. We were able to help with the prep for it which was fun. We had to tape a mop to a broom to get the door open (hard to fill the font without the keys to it but we managed) ---Spiritual Thought--  But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. John 14:6  I really like this scripture because of how well it describes the Holy Ghost. He helps us ...
